 Trans awareness training  

Trans Can Sport provides half-day training sessions aimed at health and fitness professionals. We'll give you the knowledge and skills you need to work effectively with trans clients and support them on their health and fitness journey. The funds we raise through providing this training will help Trans Can Sport continue to run free and low cost activities. 


Sessions are divided into 2 sections. The first is a general introduction to the trans community including:

  • who trans people are

  • relevant terminology

  • general issues that affect the community

  • top tips for good communication


The second section is more specific information about health and fitness, including:

  • the social and physical processes of gender transition

  • how to make your training environment and facilities more accessible

  • health and wellbeing issues

  • equality and diversity legislation and how it applies in a health and fitness context 

  • removing needless administrative barriers for trans people
